Sandpiper Cove

We have been staying at Sandpiper Cove since 2009. We have never had a bad experience until this trip. We are beach side in unit 2148. First off when we arrived the condo was filled with flying bugs that resembled a tiny moth. I would say we killed 50+ bugs. We complained. Nothing was done. Second we are a family of 6. We packed light bc we always wash and dry clothes as needed. The first night we realized the dryer was broken. They sent maintenance and he said it was fixed. It was not. We called the the third day and explained it was not. They said we could pay to use the ones on site that were across the street and that it would be fixed after our 4 night stay ended. Fourth and final we waited 3 hours for maintenance to come fix our exterior door that wouldn’t lock. They didn’t come, we called and said never mind since it’s our last day. I left 3 messages for the manager Shannon who we’ve dealt with in the years past. She never returned our calls. $2000 for a 4 day stay for less than desirable amenities. To the owner of the condo, sure it’s fair for you to increase your rates, but only if you improve things. Couches are completely worn out. Bugs all over the bedrooms. Both bathrooms need to be updated. The mattresses are worn out as well. The door leading to the balcony isn’t flush and you can see a lot of sunlight, I feel sure the bugs are entering. Do better! Unsatisfactory in every way for our fall break 2023! DONT STAY IN 2148!!! Allison

Sandpiper Cove is a gem. The beach was clean and less crowded than other places we have stayed. There are restrooms available next to ricks sand trap which makes it easy to access from the beach. Pools were all very clean and the kids loved all the swimming. The grounds are extremely well-kept. For those who love pickleball and tennis, they were resurfacing and updating the courts while we were there (July 15 2023). If you have the funds, I highly recommend renting a golf cart bc it is quite a trek to and from the beach—you have to cross a big intersection. We drove our vehicle each time which was kind of cumbersome. My one complaint is the cost—sandpiper cove is expensive and many of the condos need updates. But overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others who are vacationing with family.

Our family four had a nice stay at Sandpiper Cove condominium unit 2044. We stayed in a 1 bedroom with pullout couch. It was located in the back of the property which required a moderate walk to the white sand beach with crystal blue water. Other units, I noticed, had golf carts or came with beach chairs and umbrella but our did not. The unit was clean but the furnishings and linens were a bit old and stained and the pullout bed uncomfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped for all our needs. The back deck overlooked the canal where we could see the Harborwalk fireworks on Thursday.

If you choose to stay here (which I would suggest you do not) make sure to document every little thing that doesn't work properly or is broken when you arrive because these money hungry thieves will keep your deposit for the littlest thing. When we arrived our condo had not been cleaned (beds not made, dirty hand prints and cup rings on the counters and a puppy pad on the bedroom floor. They had to move us to another condo for the night but then had to go back to the original the following day (a big pain when you're on vacation and just want to relax). There were many issues with the condo (showers not working as they should, toilet didn't want to flush and closet doors falling off the tracks) but didn't even think to say anything to them about the pull out couch not wanting to be put back away easily given hardly anything worked as it should. But you bet your a** they used that excuse to keep my 200$ security deposit. But I'd bet they do this to nearly all of their guests...

Sand Piper Cove is an awesome place to bring your family. Security keeps it safe for everyone and are very professional. The maintenance crew keeps everything working properly and repairs any damages lightning quick. The office staff are an extraordinary group of people and have excellent customer service skills. I’ve stayed here twice. Once in 2019 for a week and I literally just got home from our second visit and we stayed for 2 weeks. Each condo we’ve stayed in were really nice and had everything you need during your stay. My daughter (7 yrs) loves the 5 pools, we had to try them all out. My wife loves the private beach across the street and the other guests are great. We’ve met so many people this last trip and I assure you, the Sand Piper Cove is ‘where it’s at!’ I highly recommend staying at the Sand Piper Cove if you intend on staying in Destin, Fl. It’s our little home away from home. It’s the perfect little beach get-away.
